Concentration Commentary
.My sustained investigation is predatory animals from places I’d like to travel to. I choose two things that I absolutely love the animal kingdom and travel to mash them together. Each investigation represents a different country with a native animal as well as the country’s flag in the background. I researched each animal and country deeply from the animals symbolism to the native land to how or what can I do to the artwork to associate each animal to its land. My visual journals are very evident of my research. My goal for each piece was for you to look at the art and immerse yourself into the culture of each land and make you feel like your in the country depicted. The background of concentration four is very different from the rest because the aboriginal tribes in Australia were famous for their dot art so I decided to take inspiration from that and do the flag in that type of style. Another example is using seashells to give an ocean vibe to my sixth concentration the lion fish of the Bahamas. The way they are placed are to emphasize the fish and it’s bright warm tones which contrast to the blueish flag tones. Each piece has something different to represent the country and it’s uniqueness
